Everlast became involved in the designing, planning and installing of a new roof at Whitecross High School in collaboration with Stepnell Ltd. By working in partnership with contractors, architects and suppliers, we were able to ensure that the entire project ran smoothly, efficiently and to budget.

Creating an ideal roofing solution for Whitecross High School allowed us to work with Bauder Ltd, who supplied over 3,000m2 of Sedum Finished Roof Areas and 2,000m2 of Bauder Total Waterproofing System to the project. The Bauder Extensive Green Roof Sedum Blanket finish has provided the school with an eye catching focal point and an environmentally friendly roofing solution. An Ash & Lacy Ashzip Standing Seam Roof was also an integral of this project. The roof as a whole offers high levels of quality and reliability.

In a complex roofing project such as this one, it is vital that design and planning are carried out in detail. Thankfully, Everlast have the expertise to cope. We held regular meetings to discuss the design of the new roof, as well as meetings throughout the installation that allowed us to monitor progress and ensure that set budgets were adhered to. Through regular consultation with our partners we were also able design and install a roof that achieves a 25 year guarantee and which has an overall contract value of over £900,000.

Throughout the project, we always kept Health and Safety issues firmly in mind. During Workshop Meetings with subcontractors we discussed the specific Health and Safety problems that the project presented and were able to create solutions that 'designed out' any potential hazards.

Thanks to our extensive planning and careful coordination, we delivered an outstanding new installation. We were careful to ensure that every process and material we used were high quality and worked together to strengthen and enhance the roof. The Sedum Blanket finish that we installed featured a built up felt roof, metal decking, rainwater goods, facias and soffits, a mansafe system, rooflights and safety barriers which will all contribute to the finished waterproof roofing solution for years to come.

At Everlast our aim is always to provide customers with roofing that meets the specific requirements of a project. We are able to provide flexible solutions that give our customers real choice. At Whitecross High School we held regular progress meetings so that our clients could keep track of the installation and ensure that we were adhering to the eco-friendly nature of the project.

The project as a whole was specially designed to minimise environmental impact. It has been shown that this type of installation has a significant effect in reducing the energy costs of a building, which is great news for the future finances of Whitecross High School. As the roof also helps the building to blend into its environment and attracts and supports local wildlife it has quickly become an important and attractive asset of which the school are very proud.
